Where we work

Programmatic boiler content in Ontario

Ontario is where large programmatic boiler builds make the most sense: many separate cities, a deep gas market and strong demand for combi and model information. It is also where doorway-style town pages are most common.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

Ontario is the province where a large, data-led boiler page set has the most room to work. It has many separate cities, a heating base dominated by natural gas, and a steady flow of people searching specific boiler models, combis and fault codes. It is also the province where we see the most doorway-style "boiler repair in [town]" farms, so the discipline matters as much as the scale. We are a marketing service, not a contractor.

Ontario's boiler market and buyers

Gas is the main heating fuel in Ontario, which keeps gas boilers and combis central to the market. Statistics Canada reports that 58% of Ontario households heated mainly with natural gas in 2023, 18% with electricity and 4% with propane.

The cities are many and they search separately. Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, London, Markham and Vaughan are the largest, and each has suburbs and neighbourhoods with their own search behaviour. Buyers include:

  • owners of older homes with hot-water radiators replacing a boiler
  • townhouse and condo owners researching combi boilers
  • property managers of multi-unit buildings with central plants
  • rural propane households outside the gas network

Climate and seasonality

Southern Ontario has cold winters moderated near the Great Lakes, while Northern Ontario's heating seasons are longer and colder. One provincial page set therefore holds two kinds of urgency.

For the publishing calendar:

  • Southern city hubs and comparison content can be built and released through spring and summer, when replacements are planned.
  • Northern pages for places like Sudbury or Thunder Bay, if you serve them, should lead with reliability and response.
  • Fault-code batches go live by September, ahead of the first cold weeks.

Regulators to know

Ontario separates fuels and electrical safety, and boiler pages mainly need the fuels side. The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) covers fuels, boilers and pressure vessels, and its heating fuel contractor page explains that fuels work is limited to registered contractors using certified gas technicians.

Programs relevant to boiler content, as of October 2026

Ontario's current home-energy programs are generous but mostly aimed at heat pumps and building envelopes, not boilers.

  • The Home Renovation Savings Program, delivered by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with provincial support, lists rebates of up to $7,500 for a cold-climate air source heat pump and up to $12,000 for ground source, plus other upgrades.
  • The Energy Affordability Program provides free upgrades to income-eligible households, including a time-limited stream for oil-heated homes.

A boiler company's comparison pages can link these honestly when a reader is weighing a boiler against a heat pump. Confirm with the administrator before publishing any figure.

How we'd build an Ontario page set

Ontario supports a fuller build than any other province, in stages. The order matters, because adding new pages on top of an old page farm only makes the clean-up larger later.

  1. Run a risk audit first if your site already has dozens of town pages. Most Ontario page farms we see need merging before anything new is added; see scaled-content risk audits.
  2. Build city hubs for the municipalities your job data supports, written around housing, fuel and response evidence.
  3. Launch a model library for the gas boilers and combis you install, in batches of a few hundred.
  4. Add fault-code pages for your most-serviced brands.
  5. Split sitemaps by type so each layer's indexing is visible, as described on indexing and crawl control.

For Ontario projects we also work closely with our parent brands HVAC.Agency and HVAC.Digital. The areas hub covers the other regions.

Frequently asked questions

How many GTA city pages should a boiler company have?

One for each municipality where you do regular, provable work. For a GTA installer that might be six to twelve; it is almost never the 50-plus that some page farms list.

Do Ontario pages need to mention TSSA?

Linking TSSA on gas boiler pages helps readers understand that fuels work is done by registered contractors with certified gas technicians. Keep it to a link and a summary; compliance is for TSSA and your staff.

Are there Ontario rebates for gas boilers?

As of October 2026, the main Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas rebates we found focus on heat pumps, insulation and other upgrades, not gas boilers. Pages should link the programs as context and avoid implying boiler rebates.
